Firing Services
The Potters’ Studio has firing services for pottery that you've made at home, in a class or workshop, or somewhere else. We offer low, mid, and high-fire services in our electric and cone 10 gas kilns on a contract basis. No reservations necessary – just bring in your work to our main entrance on 4th Street during regular daytime staff hours (7 days a week, 10am to 5pm).
Effective June 1, 2026, the minimum fee for contract firing will increase to $50.
This adjustment helps cover the administrative support, Studio Technician assistance, kiln/gas usage, and electricity costs required to safely and sustainably operate our firing program. At the current rate, contract firing services are operating at a deficit and are no longer financially sustainable for the Studio.
We recognize that pricing changes can be an adjustment, and we sincerely appreciate your understanding and continued support as we work to maintain accessible, high-quality ceramic services for our community.
Current Members of The Potters’ Studio receive a significant discount on firing rates.
Students in all our classes receive a free firing allotment with their enrollment.
We are closed for contract firing on the following days: New Year’s Day, MLK Jr Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Indigenous Peoples’ Day, and from December 24 through January 1.
