Maija Williams Scholarship
Maija Williams was the beloved studio manager of The Potters' Studio for almost 30 years. she was committed to creating a supportive community environment focused on ceramics.
Maija’s influence and spirit have survived her, and The Potters’ Studio is committed to taking steps to keep her memory and legacy alive. With the support of Maija's two sons, we have created a scholarship fund in her name to increase diversity, support youth and elders who are interested in exploring ceramics, and to provide opportunities for underrepresented populations to explore all aspects of ceramics.
The Maija Fund’s full-tuition scholarships are awarded to BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+ people, and those ages 18–21 are especially encouraged to apply. Scholarship recipients can reapply and receive up to one year of classes. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis — fill out the form below to apply.
Scholarships for Session 2 of 2026 are OPEN. Applications submitted after FRIDAy, FEBRUARY 20 @ 5pm will be considered for session 3 of 2026.
Maija’s legacy is important to us. The Maija Scholarships are made possible by our community of generous studio Members and supporters. Please consider donating to the Scholarship Fund to support Maija’s legacy.
